 psychological critisim

Just to debunk what I think is going on in a story seems appealing to me. Im writing my Doc2 paper on the short story of Flannery O'conner The Revelation. Now when you first read the revelation you meet a christian lady who belives that she is better than anyone even the rich people named Mrs.Turpin. As you read the story you notice how she critiszes everyone and puts her attention on a young lady Mary Grace. Long story short, Mrs.Turpin says somethings that are directed to Mary Grace. Before you know it Mary grace lashes out at Mrs.Turpin telling her "Go back to hell where you came from, you old wart hog." the comment itself leavees her speachless and thinking all day. Now at the end of the story she scoldes at god, shes mad at him for the things that have happend, telling him "who do you think you are". We came to class on day and we basically debuncked the story. We basically figured out that this story took place around the civil right movement which would explain all the reasons why"white" people thought so low of the "black" people in this story. If you continue to read at the end of the story Mrs.turpin realizes that even when she thinks as a good or perfect person is not what god himself thinks, he accepts everyone.

  1. Regarding Ms. Turpin it seems like psychologically she was not all there. It makes me question her up bring and as to why she develop this Narcissistic personality.
